VIP – GlamGlow Mud Mask review

July 26, 2013

Now unfortunately I have only used one jar of the GlamGlow Tingling and Exfoliating Mud Mask in my life and every week my skin sheds a tear about this fact.

GlamGlow Mud Mask

GlamGlow is literally a much loved secret weapon in the world of celebrity. From the likes of The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev to Michael Buble ( yes men use it too), this beauty buy has helped the stars make us go green with envy at just how lovely their skin is.

So imagine me joy when I managed to get this product for less than a fiver at a beauty sale. It was a very happy moment I must say!

But did it live up to the hype? Well obviously it did or I wouldn’t be adding it to my Very Impressive Product list.

The reason I was so won over by this mask is because it is a mask AND the best exfoliator I’ve ever used.  The mask is packed with all the fancy schmancy stuff but I never really focus on that if I buy things.  For me it’s all about natural ingredients, how it feels on my skin and its effect so that’s what I’ll focus on.

Ingredients –  There is physical green tea leaf extracts in the mask which is super weird at first but once you learn to slowly smooth the mask on ( no rubbing until you wash off) then it’s fine. You end up looking like some sort of swamp creature but it’s fine. Oh and the mud is French Sea Clay so that just makes it awesome right?

How it feels – Well it definitely tingles and that might not go down well with some people. For me it was a pleasant, tightening tingle. Like I could feel things reacting and you know, I could tell it was actually working. I think that’s a pretty good thing.

So the fun part is when you wash the mask off. You have to wet the mask a bit and then start slowly rubbing the mask into your skin and BOOM it turns into the most grainy and cleansing scrub I’ve used so far.

Now if you have sensitive skin, you will not like this. It is a pretty vigorous scrub and should only be used on skin that can handle a thorough cleansing. Or maybe use a wet cloth for a more gentle exfoliation. Whatever you can do that works for you but I think there are some less grainy GlamGlow products anyway.

Effect – My skin looked AMAZING! So fresh and so so clean. It felt like it had been blitzed off all the dirt and I swear my pores were non existent for like 2 days after.

When I get to the stage in life where spending £50 on a mask is perfectly okay then this bad boy will be the first thing on my list.

FeelUnique do sell it for £40 and considering the mask lasts about 8/10 uses so really each use is like a super cheap £4 facial so you could actually save money if you’re someone who pays for regular expensive treatments!

Oh I think I might have just written this post to talk myself into buying it haha 🙂

Great review. I hear conflicting reviews about Glam Glow. Maybe I’ll give it a try now.

I think if you have sensitive skin then it might be too harsh but I’ve never had an issue with it. It is pretty pricey though! xx

I see that! Up here in Canada it’s almost $80 a container. I have been having luck with a French Canadian line called “Jouviance” – greatest exfoliator I’ve used to date! Thanks for the tip!
