I’ve always been more of a makeup wipe fan rather than an eye make-up remover kinda gal but when I managed to get my hands on the Clarins Instant Eye makeup remover AND the Gentle eye makeup remover, I thought what better time to give ’em a try.
I don’t bother to wear waterproof eye makeup but I never leave the house without my “eyes” done so I felt these products would be a great way to see if I need a strong product or if my eyes need to be treated with sensitive care.
Clarins Gentle Eye Makeup Remover:
A fresh, soothing lotion that gently and thoroughly removes all regular eye make-up.
After one use it became pretty clear I don’t need the sensitive touch and those who do must clearly be using special eye makeup. I needed to quite a lot of product to fully soak and remove my eye makeup, which only makes the remover run out faster than necessary.
The formula was very gentle and did leave my eye area feeling clean and fresh but I just wasn’t blown away by this. However, I do feel like if you see this one offer somewhere and need something for sensitive skin then it might be worth a try.
Clarins Instant Eye Makeup Remover:
A bi-phase lotion which instantly removes all traces of eye make-up, including long-wearing and waterproof formulas.
I think I just found my first V.I.P (Very Impressive product) in the world of eye makeup removers. But seeing as I’m only tried out this brand I’m holding back on attaching this title just in case I find one that’s even better.
I really liked the “bi-phase” formula which is when you get a water phase and a oily which are seperate in the bottle but when mixed together create an effective removal lotion. I vaguely remember trying a Garnier makeup remover with this formula years ago and not loving it but I have no clue why after using this product.
My makeup was removed as throughly as you can really expect from a remover and my skin didn’t react in any way. I found the best way to use it is to soak the pad and press that onto our eye for a about 20 secs. Then softly start to wipe, wipe, wipe away.
Verdict: The Instant eye makeup remover does exactly what it says in the packaging if used properly. And seeing as I’ve been using mine for nearly 2 months now, it lasts quite some time meaning it’s good value for your money.
I would only suggest buying the Gentle remover if you really need a sensitive formula. Just prepare to use up A LOT of product in the process…
Have you given either of these a try? Got any other removers I should try out?
