Jared Leto is a beaut.
We all know it and that’s why it hurts me to this day that I physically bumped into him but missed my opportunity to say actually say hi.
I hate that I don’t even remember the day our lives collided but I definitely know I was working as the Celebrity and Entertainment intern as Handbag.com and doing my film junket duties at the lovely Soho Hotel.
Again, I can’t even remember who I had just been interviewing because it’s all a blur, but I was definitely on my post interview high as I walked out of the building.
And that’s when I bumped shoulders with the man coming into the hotel. We did the ‘Oops, my bad’ dance as is accustomed in these situations and I immediately said sorry and started to move away. But I couldn’t help but get a flash of recognition in the seconds this all took place.
He may have tied his luscious locks into his beloved man bun and his piercing blue eyes night have been hidden behind stylish aviator shades, but there was no denying that I had just been face to face with Jared Leto.
I can’t even imagine what my face looked like but I watched him walk in and continue on his path, wondering if it would be seriously sad to chase after him like a groupie.
Deciding that I needed to maintain some sort of professionalism, I turned round in distraught and came face to face with someone in Jared’s crew.
To say the man was finding humour in my situation is an understatement. I could see the tell-tale movement in his shoulders that confirmed he was actually laughing at me.
I gave him a bashful smile and went on my way. As I passed some of the 30 Seconds To Mars fans, I literally wanted to cry that I had been so close to one of my faves. Why, oh why, didn’t I have a movie moment and like completely fall over so he would have had to touch my hand and help me up or something. Maybe offer me some tea in his hotel room. You know, all the normal meet-cute situations.
Alas, it wasn’t meant to be.
But i did get to see him again soon after when 3STM did a flashmob performance in Soho Square on 30 May 2013.
Again I was at work, and my colleague found out about it leading us to run out of the office with our work left undone so we could join to crowds to watch Jared and co perform.
It was awesome, and his hair is beautiful no matter what distance you look at it.

Seeing as I’m only 23 years old right now, I’m pretty sure I’ll get my chance to meet Jared again soon. Right?
