After falling in love with the EOS lip balm, I silently cursed the beauty gods that it’s not yet available to buy in high street beauty stores in the UK.
Then I stumbled upon the very similar looking Balmi lip balm which seemed to be the answer to my prayers. Surely this pretty – and key ring friendly – lip balm could step in once my EOS lip balm ran out?
Well here’s what I found when I put the two products up against each other…
Pros: As well as having a fun, cute design, the Evolution Of Smooth lip balm left my lips feeling (and tasting) divine. As a lip balm nut, I will settle for nothing less than silky smooth smackers.
Whenever ingredients like Shea butter, Jojoba oil and vitamin E are mentioned then I am totally ready to get involved.
EOS 100% natural with 95% organic ingredients. None of those pesky parabens, pthalates or petroleum so this is even good for pregnant ladies to use. Whoop!
Cons: As I mentioned before it’s not in your local Boots, Superdrug or Tescos but it can be ordered online.
Due to the design, you do struggle to use the final bit of product and trust me when I say, you be angry at having to let any of it go to waste.
Pros: It’s got the same pocket friendly shape as EOS but the added key ring chain totally makes this even easier to carry around.
It IS available in Tescos, Boots and so on so you can get those points or just replenish your stock with ease.
Cons: The formula just didn’t work for my lips. It gave the impressions of being moisturising but i had dry flaky lips throughout the day that I absolutely cannot stand.
I’m pretty sure there is less product than EOS as well but that is slightly cancelled out by the fact you can buy it in stores.
And unfortunately, this bad boy isn’t organic or full of natural ingredients so poor little Balmi had a hard time living up to other lip balms I’ve used.
And the winner is … EOS. Sorry Balmi, but you don’t even come halfway compared to the perfection that is Evolution Of Smooth. Thankfully I just got more sent over from family in the US. Winning.
