So the sun has been shining down on England over the past days and while it’s been grand, it does mean a lot of unappealing smells enter the world. LOLs.
And as well as the basic protection of good deodorant, I couldn’t help but wonder why people don’t have their summer fragrance on hand to ensure they are smelling good as they strut about in next to nothing.
I’m currently using Christina Aguilera’s fragrance Red Sin as my ‘early summer’ scent so I thought I’d give share my thoughts about it with you all. And then I thought why not round up some other celebrity fragrances that I’ve used and reckon would be pretty good for the months ahead. So here we are…
Christina Aguilera – Red Sin
With a musk and sandalwood base, this scent is sexy and familiar as the heart note of red cyclamen really heats things up. The red ginger stands out straightaway and seems a bit too strong at first but once it fades a little bit you’ll love what it adds to the fragrance.
The top notes of red apple and cinnamon make it fresh and perfect for the sunshine months. A great scent to wear as summer fades into autumn I think.
Beyonce – Pulse NYC
What’s not to love abut a fragrance with a Red Velvet cupcake base note? This is a slightly more fruit scent as the top notes features raspberries, pears and pomegranate. It also quite florals thanks to the Arabic jasmine, peony flowers and Beyonce’s favourite, Orchids, which feature in the heart of the scent.
Finishing off the base with some good old patchouli this is a sweet but likeable fragrance that you almost want to only wear on a sunny day in New York City. Until then, wearing it out and about will do.
Rihanna – Nude
Saving the best till last, my fave has to be Rihanna’s flawless fragrance, Nude. I can’t even begin to describe how perfect this fragrance is.
I like things sweet and Rihanna’s team delivered just that in this sweet fruity/floral blend. The vanilla base is clear from the first sniff as well as the woody/musky notes that add a sensuality to it.
Fruity aromas of guava, mandarin and pear are mixed with white flowers: gardenia petals, Sambac jasmine and orange blossom. The base consists of sandalwood, vanilla orchid and ‘second skin’ musk make this smell exactly how you might image Rihanna scent to be like.
I got complimented every single time a friend caught whiff of it for the first time and it lasted a good two months. A good number of my pals actually went out and got their own because it is that good.
So those are my thoughts on a few celeb perfumes you might wanna try this summer. Hope you enjoy whichever one you might decide to try out.
