2015 did not get off to a good start for me after I dropped my Macbook and broke my hard drive, wah! Sadly, I did not have half of my stuff backed up and now I’m going to have to try and create my posts without all the lovely pictures I took and filed away for this little blog of mine.
Last year I was kindly sent samples of some MyChelle products which I tested out in the dreary winter months in London, as well as the blissful sunshine of Nigeria.
The first product was the Fruit Enzyme Cleanser which is described as ‘A special blend of natural multi-fruit Alpha- Hydroxy Acids unclog and purify pores, and increase cellular turnover for a more youthfully refined look.’
The key ingredients are:
Fructooligosaccharides (D-beta) (NutraFiora®) – A pre-biotic from naturally occurring carbohydrates that promote healthy surface bacteria to protect the skin from harmful bacteria invasions.
Multi Fruit AHA Complex – Naturally occurring alpha hydroxy acids to help promote smoother, younger looking skin by increasing the rate of cell renewal.
Pectin (Fruit Enzymes) – Infuses the skin with antioxidants and phytochemicals that assist in skin repair functions, protects from cellular damage and free radical assault, stimulates cell renewal and exfoliation mechanisms.
Now I often dismiss products that are suitable for all skin types but I can totally understand why this product is an option for everyone. While it is gentle, it is still effective due to the amazing mix of natural products which worked a treat on my oily/combination skin.
I definitely had a bit more of an even skin tone glow and my outbreak rate didn’t increase at all in the months that I used it. In the week since I stopped using the cleanser, my skin has lost its glow and just seems to be missing the Fruit Enzyme goodness!
The second product was the Apple Brightening Serum and this product can rapidly diminish the appearance of discoloration and sun-damage. Apple Plant Stem Cells trigger skin’s natural regenerative process while reducing line depth up to 15% in just 4 weeks. Breakthrough peptide Melanostatine®5 interrupts the reaction that causes hyperpigmentation to deliver a 33% improvement in skin’s tone and clarity.
And the key ingredients are:
Niacinamide (B3) – Improves oxygenation and ingredient absorption by stimulant actions that increase circulation and detoxification processes, assists in the utilization of B vitamins.
Nonapeptide-1 (Melanostatine®5) – Biomimetic peptide (mimics body’s natural response) shown to reduce hyperpigmentation by preventing activation of tyrosinase and blocking melanin synthesis.
Malus Domestica (Apple) Fruit Cell Culture (PhytoCellTec™) – Revolutionary break through ingredient in skin care to stop chronological aging. First topical product to protect human skin stem cells and delay natural aging process by maintaining the activity of skin stem cells. Triggers the skin’s cell potential for infinite regeneration while reducing wrinkle depth.
Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract (Applephenon™) – Shown to contain ten times the level of polyphenol found in ripe apples. Maintains youthful skin, rich in malic acid which refines and rejuvenates the skin, inhibits elastase (an enzyme that breaks down elastin protein) known to maintain healthy elastin fibers.
I’m not a lover of serums but I really enjoyed how fruity this smelled and the slightly sticky texture just made it feel more natural and organic. Again, I think this did play a part in helping my skin tone look a bit more even as promised. But I can’t say I’ve been converted into the world of serums, I just don’t like them for reasons I can’t really explain considering they are great for discolouration.
Verdict: I loved the face wash and I really feel like it did help with the appearance on my skin tone. Both products managed to deliver what it said on the box and I really think they are worth a try if you want to be using products that have (effective) natural ingredients.
Hope onto the MyChelle site for plenty of tips about which range is best for you skin and ways to look after your skin.
