New York is a foodie paradise, no? There is literally something for everyone and it all comes in lovely large American portions. Literally the dream.
But as many of you know, there is no way you can visit New York City and actually tick off every restaurant on your list. Even when you live there it is the greatest challenge.
So on my recent visit to the Big Apple, I unintentionally ended up focusing entirely on eateries in Manhattan. It was a choice bred from laziness but I have absolutely no regrets.
Without further ado, here are the places that blew my mind and will hopefully do the same for you too.
This restaurant is what you might call a grown-up Barbie playground. It’s pink AF and they even have stickers saying that slogan just in case you thought it wasn’t intentional.
It’s got a unique healthy menu which is mainly Italian dishes but there is something for everyone.
I literally drooled with delight as a munched my yummy and fresh octopus salad, while my friend sang the praises of their spicy lamb burger.
Make sure you head to the super pink toilets because did you even go if you don’t take a toiler selfie?!
Nas is an iconic rapper who was once married to singer Kelis, who is now possibly more famous for her cookbooks than her music.
While she sang about her milkshakes bringing the boys to the yard, Nas is out here setting up his own restaurants all over New York.
You need to pop over into one of his restaurants to get your fix of chicken and waffles. Plus you might even see the rapper hanging out there.
If you haven’t heard about Sarabeth’s then I’m here to make sure you stop by next time you are near Central Park.
It’s a famous spot to stop by for a tasty brunch or some of their famous sweet treats and baked goods.
Prices are good and the sizes are just right if you choose to sit down for brunch.

This is a lovely Italian chain of restaurants which are located in all the right places in Manhattan.
I definitely recommend heading to the branch in the Meatpacking district if you plan to go out after dinner.
Great vibes, great Italian food, and pocket-friendly prices.
Back from NYC and I have to tell you guys about the amazing @lukeslobster 🙌🏾 look how much lobster flesh they jam into the roll?! God, I love America. AND they are sustainably sourced. So sad I only got to eat there once. I will be back to try the trio ASAP 📷@lukeslobster cause my greedy butt ate it all before taking a snap! 🙈 #lukeslobster #lobster #lobsterroll #datlastbite #nolalikes #nyceats #nycfood
LUKE’S LOBSTER ROLL
I love Lobster.
And this sensational spot serves lobster rolls, shrimp rolls, crab rolls or even a combo of all three if you’re feeling greedy.
The rolls are properly filled with fresh seafood and it is all under $15. There’s also lots of other stuff on the menu but my eyes couldn’t move past the seafood, tbh.
We stumbled on Dudley’s while looking for somewhere to grab a quick bit on the Lower East Side.
The music was great, the compact but cute space had a lively atmosphere and the pasta was divine.
Our waitress was lovely and so helpful which just helped to make the whole dining experience even more enjoyable.
There is more than just lollipops available at the Sugar Factory.
If you are in the mood for something sweet then you can pick from a whole host of milkshakes, hot chocolates, ice cream sandwiches and all sorts of delightful desserts.
There are also lots of savory items too, but it’s mainly all about the massive cocktail goblets if you’re heading on a night out.
I have to admit I didn’t know anything about Frankie’s or Lil Frankie’s before my recent trip.
But it turns out it’s a pretty popular place to grab some high standard Italian food that comes complete with the authentic homecooked feeling.
Lil Frankie’s seems super cozy from the front but there is thankfully enough room to host a good amount of guests.
Give their whole fire roasted eggplant a try because it’s pretty special.
Anyone who has watched Cake Boss on TLC will understand why it is essential you make your way to Carlo’s Bakery.
I only got a chocolate cupcake because I wasn’t really in the mood for something sweet at the time.
But I really wish I tried their lobster tails.
I know it’s is a restaurant chain but nothing beats Red Lobster for me. It has all the seafood I want and in such big lovely portions.
Just be prepared for the food coma which hits you before you’ve even had a chance to finish your meal.
Have you ever been to New York? Got any other Manhattan restaurant recommendations to add?
