My name is Nola and I’m a lip balm addict. In the world of beauty, nothing is more important to me than fleeky eyelashes, flawless skin and smooth lips.
While smooth lips should be easy to manage, the weather, bad formulas and just life somehow make it more difficult than it should be.
Thankfully my years spent searching for the PERFECT lip balm means I am able to save you the hassle and direct you towards the absolute top of the crop.
Without further ado, here are the best lip balms on the market… You’re welcome!
This is my favourite brand for top quality lip balms that do exactly what they say on the tin.
Like most French companies, they have managed to get the formula just right in order to moisturise and soften lips with a long-lasting effect.
Thanks to the use of honey and essential oils, this beauty is certain to “nourish, repair, soothe and protect even the driest and most damaged lips”.
Plus a little goes a long way meaning it last long enough to make up for the price.
I fell for the Evolution Of Smooth hype when the likes of Miley Cyrus, the Kardashians and every other celeb in the world started promoting it in their videos and on social media.
But you know what, it actually works pretty well so at least this wave of brainwashing actually did some good to my makeup bag.
As well as the cute ball shape, this organic lip balm has shea butter and fruit extracts in the mix which taste great and quench your lips thirst.
Blistex and Nivea were the first brands I tried when I decided Vaseline lip tips weren’t quite doing the job my lips needed.
And Blistex impressed me instantly thanks to the creamy formula and its nourishing effect on my lips.
Plus it has SPF 10 which always helps if you are gonna be in the sunshine.
The original go-to lip balm if you need to sort out dry, chapped lips.
Once you’re able to get over the weird taste and the tingling sensation, this lip balm does do a lot to help bring some relief to the crapped situation.
But it’s not for everyone and I do believe the NUXE lip balm does an equally good job.
BALM DOT COM
You must be living under a rock if you managed to avoid the hype around Glossier towards the end of the year in 2017.
Among their many cult products, Balm dot com is a standout. It’s a multipurpose salve that can be used to sort out ashy/dry situations on just about any part of the body.
But it’s mainly for your lips and comes in some fun flavours including Cherry and their famous ‘Birthday Cake.’
Special mention: Vaseline
The original formula did the job for a little while but if I do return to Vaseline it is usually the cocoa butter, aloe vera or Lulu Guinness tins.
