I hate that it’s taken me a whole week to get round to this post but I will not allow myself to let another day go by without sharing some of my thoughts on one of the most enjoyable events I’ve ever been to.
I was kindly invited by the lovely ladies at Unleashed Potential to join them at their table at the L’Oreal Colour Trophy Awards 2014 last week and my mind was blown by all the amazing creations that Britain’s most talented hairdressers had to offer.
Amazing shows from Dylan Bradshaw and Skyler McDonald for seanhanna helped make the night flow flawlessly between each finalist parade and Caroline Flack was a great host in the Topshop Satin stripe dress that I am dying to get my hands on.
Unfortunately, I didn’t take many pictures and I haven’t got even 1/4 of all my videos on Instagram (NolaMarianna) but if you have a quick look on my page then you’ll get a little taste of what I mean.
I was quite proud that my prediction for the winner of the Mizani Afro Look Award was correct and the guys at Headmasters Notting Hill Gate walked away with the trophy.
The best part of the night had to be a rather awesome mesh of film, visuals and hair which saw absolutely magical creations from Richard Ward Hair and Metrospa, Charles Worthington Salons, Daniel Galvin, Trevor Sorbie and RUSH Hair & Beauty made me wish I could record the show on my Skybox at home. It was the kind of thing that needs to be watched over and over again to fully appreciate that absolute mastery of art that we witnessed.
Another treat for the evening was getting to meet the current face (and hair) of Mizani, Beverley Knight. She was absolutely lovely and totally gave me hair envy as you would expect when the amazing Charlotte Mensah works on her tresses.
